Her most recent works deal with the "building" of three dimensional paintings designed to invite the viewer into the picture. The textured backgrounds create unusual and unique art works. KOKESHI DOLLS
Kokeshi (pronounced Ko-Ke, like e in get - Shee) are Japanese friendship dolls. The legend is that when a friend is leaving or retiring, you purchase two of these small, wooden limbless dolls. One you give to your friend and the other you keep to remember her by.
